INBOX to INBOX copyMessages() in POP

Is it possible to copy from user1 INBOX to user2 INBOX using POP? I tried it and it said "MethodNotSupportedException: Append not supported". I'm starting to think not, but is there something I could configure on the Sendmail side to allow this to work?

In case someone was loosing sleep with this question going unanswered, allow me to answer my own question.

POP3 can't do it. You have to mail to another user's inbox.
