i have written code to send a mail using the JavaMail API. i am sending the mail form yahoo to hotmail. As the smtp host which one do i specify. Yahoo's or my service poviders whose internet connection i have.

it's nothing else.
ur ISP.
ex:if ur ISP will satyam
then
SMTP server:
mail.satyam.net.in

i hope,u will get solution.

You should always specify the SMTP provider from YOUR service provider. You can always manually lookup the MX record of each recipient (as described in the FAQ), but that is really the job of the mail server, not a user program.
