How do i connect java with a microsoft excel file (.xsl) which is on unix platform. Both java and the excel are on unix platform. Do i have to use jdbc-odbc ? if yes. then where and how to install the odbc driver on unix.

Did you find any information about this?

I'm trying to do the same thing and have not found any Excel drivers that are compatible with Unix.

Found a product from www.tidestone.com
http://www.tidestone.com/demos_f1/demo_70.jsp

Will see if this works to create the .xls files.
