I have been trying to set up a distributed system using RMI and JNDI. The client application always gave me "ClassNotFoundException". After some while of digging and internet searching, it turned out that the class loader for JNDI is different from that loads applications. Somebody suggested a URLClassLoader and it works. However, the problem is that you have to know the URL! A big advantage of using JNDI is that users do not have to know where the remote objects are located. Does anybody have a good solution for this problem?
