We know that when we implement SSL on a web site, the response time of the web site increases.

Can anyone give some benchmark figures
as to what is the percentage by which the reposnse time increases for 128 bit encryption and 40 bit encryption?

I am installing the certificate on an IIS web server.
Any pointers will help.

Probably absolutely no difference at all. Note clearly that there's just one HTTPS size, 128-bits. The export emasculated versions of the browsers just used a fixed set of bits and only vary the "low" 40 odd bits.
