You're probably talking of the P2P Sun's initiative, a little bit controversial in the community.
Before checking out the the JXTA site at
http://www.jxta.org, take a look at
this article.
Then, once you have an idea you can go and read some interesting posting in the java.lang.advocacy newsgroup where there are people not really happy with some of the main 4 points of Jaxp.
