I'm putting together a little browser using JEditorPane with the HTMLEditorKit. When I pass a URL to setPage() it automatically connects to the remote site, request the page, and streams it into the editor. This all happens asynchronously.

How would I abort this? For instance, I would like to have a 'stop' button that allows the user to abort the loading of a page. Possible?

I'm totally new to Java (a couple of days), so excuse me if this is a stupid question. I did search the net for an answer first, and came up with nothing.

Thanks for you help!

Hi Eric,

I was wondering if you found a solution to stop loading of the page. I am also working on creating a browser and had same problem. Didn't know how the stop button should be implemented. I posted a question on this forum but in vain. Could you please answer this question if possible.

Thank You,
