I am trying to make Tomcat run in a Solaris platform. When I type 'tomcat.sh start' in the prompt, I get:

Usage: java org.apache.tomcat.startup.Tomcat {options}
...

And then it hangs after that. Please help. Thank you.

make sure that in your wrapper.properties the following lines are present:
wrapper.startup_class=org.apache.tomcat.startup.Tomcat

wrapper.cmd_line=$(wrapper.javabin) -classpath $(wrapper.class_path) $(wrapper.startup_class) -config $(wrapper.server_xml) -home $(wrapper.tomcat_home)
