I need to display the data in jsp page for every 5 seconds bring from the server , can i get data without refreshing the whole page.

Search for pushlets on the net when you get the site (i dont remember the url)
check it out ,it shall solve ur problem the solution provided by the author uses javascript but u only push the required data from your servlet jsp the author also provides a complete framework for it so check it out.so this is a push not a pull just like u want.
