I have an applet written in JDK 1.2 which uses java plug-in.
When I sign the applet using microsoft authenticode files it doesn't work but when I change the applet to jdk1.1(which doesn't use java plug-in)and sign it with authenticode it works.

How can I use authenticode files for signing a java applet written in jdk 1.2 using swing classes??

As already answered in the FAQ, the Java Plug-in requires its own method of signing. Authenticode is only for those applets that don't use the plugin.
