We're using Apache 1.3.14 and Tomcat 3.2.1...attempting to "upgrade" from mod_jserv to mod_jk. All of this is on the AIX platform. We downloaded the source for mod_jk and compiled according to the "Working with mod_jk" document. I'm pretty sure we have all the files located in the appropriate places and we have the mod_jk.conf-auto included in httpd.conf. However, when we run "apachectl start", we get the following error: # apachectl start Syntax error on line 8 of /folder1/APPS/servers/tomcat32/conf/mod_jk.conf-auto: Can't locate API module structure `jk_module' in file /folder1/APPS/servers/apache/libexec/mod_jk.so: Function not implemented (jk_module) apachectl start: httpd could not be started    More>>

apachectl start: httpd could not be started

So, does this mean that mod_jk didn't compile correctly? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Turns out it was a problem with our compile process (of mod_jk). We are able to start Apache with mod_jk ok now.
