Is it possible for an applet to access a database which
is not on the server from where it is downloaded ? In case
an applet wants to access a database which is not on the server
from which it downloaded which drivers should we user ?
What are the restrictions and which techniques we should use.
Any help is appreciated.

As already mentioned in the FAQ.... Sign your code and make sure your users trust your applet.
