The following structure has been created under weblogic/classes/com/ea/synthetic/common/backstory under which I have copied
BackStoryAssetFactory.class but the servlet is not able tp pick up this object.

These are the possible places where I can copy the class files in my weblogic server

1. classes

2. classfiles

3. clientclasses

4. commonclasses

5. servletclasses

If u r using weblogic 5.0, try to register the servlet in weblogic.properties file and then try to copy the class files in myserver directory.
i.e myserver/com/ea/synthetic/common/backstory
