Say I want to start a new application for the Palm and I want to use Java. What libraries/toolkits should I use?

The base CLDC has lousy graphics support. From what I understand, MIDLets are for phones instead of Palms right now. kAWT is 3rd party, which scares me a little.

Suggestions or discussion appreciated.

For starting new application for Palm you must have CLDC api and palm emulator to test your application.

You can download cldc api (j2me_cldc-1_0_2-fcs-winunix.zip and j2me_cldc-1_0_2-fcs-kjava_overlay.zip files) from Sun's site. You can download palm emulator from palm.com site it is also free.
