Can you make an ODBC connection through the JDBC-ODBC bridge head without having to use the host computers DSN's (data source names)? For example: if the database server is called TESTSQL and the database is called dbTest and the host computer has a DSN for it called myTestDB then I would use "jdbc:odbc:myTetstDB" as the URL. What if the host computer does not have any DSN's? Can I make the connection? The database server in this case is Microsoft SQL 7.0.

I don't think so. Since the jdbc-odbc bridge works relies on the DSN being setup propertly on the mechines. There are some workarrounds like using a different 3rd party driver which allows you to specifly the path to get to the data source.
