Is there a way to implement a persistent RMI Registry?
Currently, if rmiregistry crashes, all bindings in
there are lost. Even though rmid stores activation
information on a disk, the rmiregistry + rmid
combination can't survive a process/host crash+restart!
Is there a way to stringify Remote references somehow,
so that they can be stored on a disk and retrieved
later (similarly to CORBA's IORs)? (Unfortunately
the Remote interface doesn't extend Serializable.)
