need to change web application url hosting on tomcat server

Hi All,
I am new to tomcat and new to this forum also. I have one web application which is hosted by tomcat and running on https and url is like https://servername:portnumber/applicationfoldername but I want my url to be https://application folder name.How can I do that. Please help me regarding this. Suggest me some tutorial or steps for the above problem.

Hi Divya,
https://application this is not possible at all if you want to have your own servername you can change it and if you don't wanna mention the prot number then also it can be done.
Open the server.xml in the conf directory of your tomcat folder and change the host name to your choice of name and change the port to "80".After doing this you need to add the server entry (yourServername ipof the localhost )in the "hosts" file in your windowssystem32 folder.

Now your application is accessible at : https://yourServerName/application
