Hello iam new to java programming...
when iam trying to compile a simple java program that include


import java.applet.*;


import java.awt.*;


when iam trying to compile this getting error message

			
FileName.Java uses or Overrides a depricated API
Recompile with -Xlint:Deprication for Details


please provide solution Iam new to Java and using SDK5

It is a warning that some method call you are making has been marked as "not recommended for use" since it might disappear in a future version of the language. Do as it says to get better info -- we can't know where the problem is w/o seeing the source code, so you'll just have to try on your own. Something like: javac -Xlint:deprecation yourfile.java should get you pointed in the right direction. If you aren't building manually, you'd have to tell people what tool is handling your compilations to have a chance at someone knowing how to have that tool turn this compile switch on. When you find the method call(s) you are making, you should look them up in the API docs to see if they recommend using a different method (and most of the time they do).
