I want to fork a process in java in such a way that
the forked process (an app) is executed on a different
and dedicated processor. How do I do this inside an
Intel multi-core box?

Thanks.

In order to execute, Java threads must map to O/S threads. It is up the O/S to determine what thread runs on a particular CPU. The short answer to your question is: You cannot.

The good news is that you can multi-thread your application thereby increasing the likelihood that each thread may run on a different CPU.
