Validity of SCJP exams

Hi All,
I gave SCJP exam in 2006 for Java1.4.Could somebody let me know till how many years the certification is valid.And if its 2 yrs now,i wanna give for webservices,do i need to give an upgrade exam before?And till what time the validity of this webservices certification is?I mean if the validity of webservices certification is say 3 yrs then is it mandatory for me to do the architect certification in the duration of 3 yrs??

No, it’s valid life long! Sun didn’t fix any validity period for SCJP and other Java certifications, I suppose. There is no renewal date/expiry date, but you can take up ‘upgrade-exams’ for your satisfaction, if you wish.
