Hi I'm want to link to another website. I am new to XML The original syntax is: http://www.minedu.govt.nz/index.cfm?layout=document&documentid=3788&indexid=1203&indexparentid=1028 I realise that this url is mal-formed and I need to change '&' to &-a-m-p-; [I had to seperate the &-a-m-p-; with a space between each character in order to get them to appear here]. However when I made this replacement and checked the url I get an error page. Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong or whether with is a problem with the code of the site I want to link to? I am also having a similar problem with this url when i change & to &a   More>>

Hi

I'm want to link to another website. I am new to XML

The original syntax is:

http://www.minedu.govt.nz/index.cfm?layout=document&documentid=3788&indexid=1203&indexparentid=1028

I realise that this url is mal-formed and I need to change '&' to &-a-m-p-; [I had to seperate the &-a-m-p-; with a space between each character in order to get them to appear here]. However when I made this replacement and checked the url I get an error page.

Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong or whether with is a problem with the code of the site I want to link to?

I am also having a similar problem with this url when i change & to &-a-m-p-; [without the spaces between the characters]:

http://www.nzvcc.ac.nz/default.aspx?l=2&p=11

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Using & to replace & in URL is correct.

I do it all the time in my FAQs. For example, read this page:
http://bobcat.webappcabaret.net/javachina/faq/xml_01.htm

Since I am transfering xml to xhtml before I posting to my website, I had to do the same. All the here links did exact the same in the page.

I think you must have some other problems.
