My application is running on redhat linux. manullay we have changed the LANG entry in /etc/sysconfig/i18n to "en_US.UTF-8".

from my application i'm saving a mime message to disk. but the problem is i'm getting Unexpected charset in contettype header

as "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ANSI_X3.4-1968". instead of UTF-8 as charset.

Note: Actually the text which i'm writing on to the file is spanish.

the property file.encoding is also set to UTF-8.

jdk version i'm using - 1.4.2
javamail version - 1.3.2

well, what is the content-type in the message when it is delivered to your mailbox? perhaps it is ANSI_X3.4-1968 already? I don't think you can change it, if you're just saving the existing message?
