I have this directory layout for my project: - src ---- resources dir (project files etc) ---- projectname ------- domain ------- ui ------- persistency ---- languages dir (language.properties) ---- settings.properties (settings for the program) - dist (desired situation) ---- resources dir ---- projectname.jar ---- languages dir ---- settings.properties - dist (current situation) ---- projectname.jar The whole idea is that the resources, settings and languages can be modified without having to repack the jar file.    More>>

I have this directory layout for my project:

- src

---- resources dir (project files etc)

---- projectname

------- domain

------- ui

------- persistency

---- languages dir (language.properties)

---- settings.properties (settings for the program)

- dist (desired situation)

---- resources dir

---- projectname.jar

---- languages dir

---- settings.properties

- dist (current situation)

---- projectname.jar

The whole idea is that the resources, settings and languages can be modified without having to repack the jar file.
Test runs in Netbeans show that my program detects the language files. My problem is that everything is now inside one big (working) jar, which is not what I wanted. I would greatly appreciate suggestions on how to put only class files in the jar, while language files etc can still be accessed.
