I have a TextArea which contains xml data. I want to store this xml data into a file .
When i use

String s=request.getParamente(textarea);

AN exception is generated.

Please help how to store xml content from a textarea to a xmlfile

You might clarify for us:

  • that you're writing servlet code here

  • that you just mispelled "getParameter" (or otherwise what type 'request' is that it has a "getParamente" method)

  • what type 'textarea' is that you are using as an argument

  • which exception, out of the roughly billions possible, you are getting

  • explanation of how a text area has "xml data" -- you probably mean "characters that resemble xml"

  • just where the xml is supposed to go... server? client?

  • what mechanism you are going to use to xml-ize the String you get from the textarea... (just dump it directly via dumb file I/O or actually use an XML API?)

It might be interesting to have a look at the exception....
