Hello, we are currently trying to get our servlets/applets transferred from our local machine, to our domain. On our local machine we are running JBuilder with tomcat 5.5, the remote server is running Resin 2.x. We are just trying a simple test at the moment, something similar to "Hello World". The applet sends a request to the servlet, the servlet picks it up and responds with a confirmation that it got the request. Then the applet produces the response on the screen. Pretty simple. We have packed the Servlet into a WAR file and deployed it. Resin seems to have picked it up fine and expanded it into the correct folders. our "web.xml" file   More>>

Hello, we are currently trying to get our servlets/applets transferred from
our local machine, to our domain.

On our local machine we are running JBuilder with tomcat 5.5, the remote
server is running Resin 2.x.

We are just trying a simple test at the moment, something similar to "Hello
World". The applet sends a request to the servlet, the servlet picks it up and
responds with a confirmation that it got the request. Then the applet produces
the response on the screen. Pretty simple.

We have packed the Servlet into a WAR file and deployed it. Resin seems to
have picked it up fine and expanded it into the correct folders.

our "web.xml" file located in "/webapps/testWebMod/WEB-INF/" directory has
the following code for the servlet:

....

testWebMod

testserv

deptest.testServ

testserv

/testserv

.....

The testserv.html file is located in the dir: "webapps/testWebMod/testserv.html"

The testServ.class file is located in the dir: "/webapps/testWebMod/WEB-INF/classes/deptest/testServ.class"

our URL code in the applet is :

http://www.domain.com/testWebMod/testserv

The full URL & command is:
http://www.domain.com/testWebMod/testserv?Method=SerCek

This works on the local machine, but not on the remote machine.

Any URL/command starting with

http://www.domain.com/testWebMod/
...... returns the 500 error. everything
else returns the file not found error

Could someone please let us know how we can get our applet talking to our
servlet?

We believe it's something to do with configuration files but not sure.

Cheers!
