Hi,


I am working on adding a search feature to a web site that uses single database driven aspx pages and would like to know if Lucene can search using the http / url address or database to index from.


As currently I can only see Lucene being able to search physical files in a windows folder.



Any ideas?

Lucene is not limited to searching local files, not limited to windows, etc. It is also not a web crawler. :)

Check this (free chapter) and have a look at Nutch, a Lucene sub-project.

If you are indexing a DB, though, check this forum, I just answered that question the other day. Also the Lucene FAQ on the Wiki answers this.
