I dont know much about the Lucene Search Engines. I am supporting one project in which they have used Lucene Search Engine for text-search the document. I am using Tomcat 5.5.15 as an application server. In the root folder of my application there is one folder which contains luceneIndex folder and again thiis folder contains _77.cfs, deletable, segments files.

I dont know how this search engine is working. But, now I want to update or change the list of the documents to be searched.

Can anyone help me for this?

Hm, where does one start with this answer? It sounds like your best bet would be to read a few articles about Lucene (links on Lucene's Wiki) or get a copy of Lucene in Action. You can't modify those files directly, you have to use Lucene as a library, using its API. That is what Lucene in Action will teach you.
