what is the difference between stop() and suspend() in Thread?

Is this a valid statement?

Thread t1=new Thread();
Thread t2=new Thread(t1);

1) Both stop() and suspend() are deprecated, so why bother with it in the first place??

2) That is a valid statement, since t1 is a Thread that implements Runnable, and the constructor of Thread accepts a Runnable as target.
