error-UnknownHostException

i am building a client-server application.

When I run these programs on local server, they are working properly. But when i run on the machine on LAN, it gives me error "UnknownHostException".

Please help me to fix this problem.

Check the host file provided by OS on the system where java program is running. May be you have to add the machine names in your host file. Or check it with your Network Administrator for network configuration.
