Can CORBA be used in low computational power devices?

Gentlemen, I have the following question:

Can CORBA be used on building applications deployed in low computational power devices?

If we supose a device such as a cell phone or a PDA, can we build a CORBA Client accessing a CORBA Server deployed in a desktop platform?

Please, let me know what are the options (if there is any) for this develpment (language, toolkits, etc).

Yes, in fact the OmniORB implementation was originally designed by Olivetti (later AT&T) specifically for that purpose.

See the OMG site for more details, another excellent ORB that has been ported to embedded systems is TAO
