We have two fields Keywords and Description and keyward should be given more priority than description but search should be simultaneous in both the fields how to do this?

how does lucene calculate scores and how does it rank the results using queryparser?

Use boosting. Here are some pointers. Lucene in Action contains code that you can easily copy.
