can we fetch data form the database in the crontab file in UNIX

i did a script to fetch the data form the database and use for calculating some values.

when i run the script manually, it works properly but when it is placed in the crontab file it donesn't fetch the data form the database.


can anyone help in this.

Does the service run by cron has the right privileges?
