document.execCommand('SaveAs', true, 'test.doc');

now my requirement is Each page in above generated word document should have a footer with a centered ‘Page x of y’line.

please tell me how to get the handle of above generated word doc and how to set footer property for the same?

I have been working on this for two weeks. Please help me, if you can. Thanks.

That's a real waste of two weeks work... It sounds as if that can't be done... You shouldn't *want* to edit Word documents with Javascript anyway.... (For the die-hards: try using Rhino to create a Java-environment on Javascript side, then using POI-libraries to access the Micro$oft stuff, that will keep you busy for at least another two weeks :))

Some people eat soup with a fork: it keeps them busy (for two weeks at least) until they realise they use the wrong tools for the job... (With this difference: eating soup is useful... Editing Word-docs from Javascript probably is not, but that depends on the requirements (or the ignorance of the people who make the requirements)...

I'll just stop for now. Good luck. :)
