Lucene Issue when a drive fulls up.

I had a case yesterday when the drive which housed my Lucene Index filled up. I cleared out space and the Index appeared to keep running(It never went down). However, now I'm seeing hundreds of tiny segements and new documents are not showing up when I perform searches.


Is there any documentation about this?
