When (at which situtaion) i have to use invokeLater() method
in my Swing Application?

You may use it for instance in the following situations:

  • When you're processing an event, initiating a process as a reaction to it, but want that process to be initiated only when the present event-handling is finished

  • When you're doing processing in some separate Thread, but want to change the Component hierarchy or some of the items within, then it's good practice to call invokeLater([actual changes]), for by that those changes will be made from within the event dispatching Thread (swing policy)
