I need to develop an Auto Responder application where the application has to send mails automatically and regularly for every specific no. of days. Whenever a customer/client has subscribed for this auto responder, then he must recieve a mail immediately and from then on should be recieving mails regularly at a specific time interval(for every x no. of days).
I request your kind and valuable help in this regard.

One option would be to keep track of tasks in a database or a file and run a timed task (from the OS, eg. "cron" on UNIX-derivates) which processes this data, sending out the emails. An all-Java solution would be to use Java's Timer facility.

Either way, your app would respond to subscriptions by sending out an email and scheduling the job(s) for sending future emails.
