what is the difference between Architectures and patterns?
Is MVC an architecture or a pattern

Architecture states the high level design of a system, whereas patterns describe a common established way a particular problem is solved.

As far as my understanding goes: Architecture is a superset of design patterns, Architecture states the solution for a particular business problem. There are multiple views for an architecture





  1. Business Architecure

  2. Technical Architecture

  3. Deployment Architecture


and so on.


Where as design patterns are more specific to code implementation. Design patterns are templates to coding practices where as architecures are templates to business solutions. Hope this explains..
