I'm a new java and linux user, and I'd like to spy the requests & answers that my computer and the http-server send to each other. (in order to know the exact sentences, by example when filling a form etc...)

Does someone know where I can find a programm that does such a thing ?

Thanks in advance

There are many packet sniffers for Linux. The most popular GUI packet sniffer is Ethereal. I find the interface a bit confusing and I prefer to use a command line packet sniffer called ngrep.

If the requests are being made by a browser, my suggestion would be to use Firefox with the Live HTTP Headers extension installed.
