What is the memory usage of a Lucene query? Is this correct?

1 Byte * Number of fields in your query * Number of
docs in your index.

I found this at http://mail-archives.eu.apache.org/mod_mbox/jakarta-lucene-user/200406.mbox/%3CDIENLCKNNDCDMPIEODNMIEFIJCAA.mflorence@airsmail.com%3E

I just making sure this is correct. Our index has 8 million records, we do a query that uses 10 fields, this query would take up 80 megs.

Just verifying this info.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think that is not 100% correct. There is a term index interval file (.tii) that also dictates the memory usage at search time. The interval can be adjusted via one of the API methods, but requires reindexing.
