I'm testing Websphere Studio 5.1.2.

Using JSF and deploying to tomcat works fine, but when I try to use JSF with a Relational Record List and then deploy, Tomcat does not start.
I guess this happen because a Relational Record List is a Websphere Data Object (WDO) , but not sure...

any help would be appreciated it!

Do you really mean "Tomcat does not start" because the whole server gets some fatal error? Or do you just mean that your web application does not start, because of some error (but the rest of the Tomcat server is OK)?

JSF just needs some Jar files in WEB-INF/lib, and .tld's, and web.xml entries. Presumably Websphere Data Objects just need some jar files?

Are you running a recent version of Tomcat, which supports the J2EE level needed for the JSF and WDO API's?
