How can I ask user to input something but not echo out what they type

I need to ask user to enter password information and then go further. I am using input but it always prints out what user types. Can someone help? Thanks a lot.

The solution is via implementing and registering your own InputHandler. On http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Security/pwordmask/ is a trick to mask the input. Maybe you could find an external written Handler ...
