Hi Sirisha,

I am supposing that U know Java and have already created a
servlet file say urjavafile.java and compiled it to say,
urjavafile.class. I am also supposing that U have Tomcat
installed on ur system.

I am also assuming that u have installed Tomcat on ur
system and set the required CLASSPATH variables.

To deploy ur servlet, u place the .java and the
compiled .class files in the WEB-INF/classes folder of ur
application.

Since u are a starter, u can use the "examples" folder of
ur Tomcat directory.

So u put ur .java and .class files in the
examples/WEB-INF/classes folder.

That's it.

Now start Tomcat Server.

Open ur web browser and type the following in the address bar:

http://localhost:8080/examples/urjavafile

BINGO !! The servlet will work.

Hope I've made a lot of things clear 2 u !!

Keep me informed at sherbir@indiatimes.com
