To be frank, I don't know much about thread. Hope you could give a hand on the following problem.
I have a thread created by SwingWorker to do the time-consuming file loading work. How can I notify event-dispatching thread when the file loading is finished? The purpose for doing so is to let the mainframe execute code to populate tree and create another dialog after data loading. I don't want to SwingWorker's finished() method to populate tree because I also need to create another dialog in the mainframe after data loading.

Look forward to your answer!

My usual answer to "I don't know much..." is to:

  1. Hire a consultant who knows.

  2. Get out the books and become knowledgeable.

However, you may try searching the Java Tech Forums at Sun for "swing worker"
