Hi Titu

You can use the Communication APIs available within JAVA 1.4 to communicate with the ports available on your PC. You will need a GSM modem connected to these ports. This GSM modem can act as the sender and/or receiver for the SMSes.

If you do not want to bear all the work of implementing all this, you can use some third party libraries available. One such is provided by Object XP (objectxp.com). They provide a simple interface thru their JSMS APIs which can be used to send and receive SMSes using a GSM modem connected to your PC on one of the COM ports

Most mobile phones now a days have a GSM modem within them. You can use the mobile phone as a GSM modem. NOKIA 6210 has a GSM modem inbuilt.

Hope this helps.
