i'm developing a system in which i need to run another application with the use of its batch file and giving some parameter to it.

but the problem is that i don't want that the dos prompt should be displayed on the desktop and all the processing should be done in backhand.

If it's on Win32, download my utilities - "ShowWindow" and "HideWindow", which use the Win32 API to keep the DOS windows hidden.

Let me know if they do the job for you.
