getContext() return null

I was able to acess A.war from B.war, but the moment I set
B.war as ROOT (by setting Context path="" in server.xml),
I am unable to get A.war i.e getServletContext().getContext("/A") returns null in B.war. Can anyone tell me how this problem can be resolved?

The javadoc says it's OK to return null:


Returns:

the ServletContext object that corresponds to the named URL, or null if either none exists or the container wishes to restrict this access.
