I am using JNDI and iPlanet LDAP server. I need to authenticate an user thru LDAP server. From my jsp file I am getting userid and password. While sending the password for autheticating in LDAP, I want to encrypt it. What algorithm do I use? and How do I know what encrytion algorithm the LDAP server used for Storing the passsword.


I m new to LDAP . If I am conceptually wrong, Pl correct me
and give me a soln


My requirement is to send an encrypted password for security purpose.
