Hi,

i am using jsp to read and write from text files in my html directory. i can read from them fine but when i try creating a file or writing to an existing one i get a security access error. i contacted my web provider to see if the catalina.policy file was correct but they said i had to grant the permission in my web.xml or server.xml file because i dont have access to the catalina.policy file. is it possible to grant file access there and if so how because i am fast running out of time to get this project in (its my uni disitation!)

cheers for any help,

pete

Hi,

are you using Unix/Linux system? If so, try giving write privilege to the web server user for your web directory.
