I'm trying to package a jar file that relies on external libraries. Unfortunately I've been unable to get this to work unless I either package the .jar files for those libraries in my jar file OR I specify the classpath in the manifest for the libraries on my local machine. Is it possible for my packaged application to just use the classpath of the host machine (and therefore allowing users to use different versions of the libraries at will)?
Or is this the way it works anyway and I'm just having some crazy environment issues?
