I got a collection as a searching result from Business tier, and in Action object I put it into request's attriubtes .Then I tried to retrieve it on a page. Unfortunately, I found I only can get null.Then I put it into session, same result.

Is there a mechanism in Struts to disable something to make all set/get have to be achieved in an ActionForm?

This should work fine, and I do the exact same thing with my apps. Are your tags looking at the right scope? Are you making sure to forward the user to a JSP and not using a redirect?
